Driving Growth and Resilience in Agriculture: EAMDA's Results in KCB Mobigrow
EAMDA implemented the KCB Mobigrow project from 2017 to 2019, aimed at providing technical training and financial services to smallholder crop farmers, dairy producers, and pastoralists. The project covered Nyanza and South Rift, Central Rift Valley, and Central Kenya and utilized market systems development, business development, and market linkage facilitation approaches.
EAMDA developed four training modules covering dairy, maize, Irish potato, and financial literacy and held five consultative forums. The project successfully trained 4,777 farmers, improving their knowledge and skills in agricultural production.
Moreover, the firm facilitated 104 farmers to participate in model farm visits, providing them with practical exposure to modern farming techniques. Additionally, the project supported 344 farmers in attending exhibition shows to showcase their produce and network with potential buyers.
The project also empowered 66 board representatives of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) through capacity-building workshops resulting in 58 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with stakeholders in the agriculture sector to promote collaboration and resource sharing.
