Project Objective:
The project’s overall objective sought to resolve constraints in access to technical training and financial services for smallholder crop farmers, dairy producers and pastoralists.
The project’s key sub-objectives included:
- Tailoring KCB's existing farmer training handbooks to suit EAMDA training model.
- Onboarding experienced trainers to conduct both TOTs and farmers' trainings.
- Train smallholder farmers in face-to-face sessions and capacity building sessions.
- Facilitate farmers to attend exchange visits to model farms, agricultural shows, exhibitions and participation in field days.
- Offer capacity building services to FPOs through board trainings, mentorships and bench marking visits.
- Accountability of training and capacity building process and outputs through timely submission of activities data and reports.
Key Achievements:
- 4 training modules developed on Dairy, Maize, Irish potato and financial literacy.
- 5 Consultative forums held.
- 4,777 farmers trained.
- 2 field visits organized.
- 104 farmers facilitated to participate in model farm visits.
- 344 farmers attend exhibition shows.
- 66 FPOs board representatives attend capacity building workshop.
- 58 MOUs signed.
- Data on 48,107 farmer submitted.
