Assessment of the Livestock and Meat Processing Industry in Kenya
EAMDA assessed the livestock and meat processing industry in Kenya for the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) to highlight opportunities for investment and business partnerships with meat industry firms in Kenya. The assessment specifically focused on beef, pork, goat, sheep, and poultry sub-sectors.
Our analysis included mapping out meat production, local trade, processing, and exports in Kenya. We also analysed the market dynamics, including supply and demand, pricing, and distribution channels. In addition, we identified potential challenges and opportunities for investors and business partners in line with Kenya’s regulatory framework.
To ensure that our assessment was comprehensive, EAMDA held a stakeholder workshop that included several stakeholders in the industry, including JARVIS, USDA, the Ministry of Agriculture and other key players.
