SHORT-TERM Assignment
Success Story with Shofco and Emerging Leaders Foundation
The objective of the assignment was to train the youth-oriented social enterprises in Market Systems Development, which involved analyzing the market system to identify constraints and opportunities for growth, and then designing and implementing interventions that address those constraints and exploit opportunities geared toward increased dignified and meaningful job opportunities for the youth.
In regards to youth employment and empowerment, there is a growing recognition of young people being a critical force and valuable contributors to society. However, the youth often find themselves marginalized, facing discrimination, and denied access to requisite skills and resources that can help shape their future.
This exclusion from meaningful participation in society not only deprives them of opportunities but also hinders their potential to drive positive change. EAMDA believes that the adoption of a systems approach is critical in unlocking employment opportunities across multiple sectors and industries.
